I am a lifelong New Orleanian and proud of it!! I began my love for radio as a young boy. I remember listening to it all. Talk, sports and music on a small AM transistor radio which I seemed to take everywhere. I loved it all… I was hooked. I wanted be in radio. The fulfillment of my dream began with an internship in 1982 at WNOE working in the news department and had the honor to work on “The Mary Foster Sports Show”. Which was the first female hosted sports radio show in the South.
Two of my most memorable moments was when I interviewed the late Mayor “Dutch” Morial and had the privilege to work with my boyhood idol Saints Quarterback Archie Manning on the “Archie Manning Radio Show” The NFL strike of 1982 left me without my newfound internship. Needing a “REAL PAYCHECK,” I took on several non-radio affiliated jobs but never lost my love for radio. In 2002 on a dare, I decided to get back into radio. I kept telling everyone, “Hey, I can do sports talk better than those other guys!” With the support of one of my lifelong friends, I contacted AM 1450 (WBYU) to inquire about a weekend show.
Instead of a weekend show. in October 2002 Jon Fine host of WBYU’s midday sports show “Sports Gumbo” offered me a shot at co-hosting “Sports Gumbo” which I was a part of for about a year.In August of 2003 SportsWrap hit the airwaves as a three-hour nighttime sports show on the Legendary Mighty 690 WTIX. It was my first chance to create, host, produce & market a local sports radio show. After less than a year of hosting a three-hour nightly show. I was offered an opportunity to move my show to the midday slot at the Mighty 690 and my three-hour nightly show turned into a two-hour midday daily show. Then the proverbial Hurricane happened… Katrina on August 29, 2005
On December of 2005 “Inside New Orleans” a midday news/talk show debuted on the all new AM 690 WIST It was my first opportunity to host and produce a show in a news/talk format. I continued to cover local sports producing and hosting WIST Sports Saturday radio show. In December of 2012 after the sale of AM690 WIST. I moved my radio show, “Inside New Orleans” to 990AM WGSO
On September 5th 2013 Inside New Orleans Sports Television show debuted on WLAE TV. After years of guest appearances on local TV sports shows. I created my own TV show. Producing and hosting a weekly one-hour reporters roundtable on local sports. In July of 2015 I was awarded the prestigious “Excellence in Journalism Award” for the Best TV Sports Show from the Historic New Orleans Press Club for producing and hosting Inside New Orleans Sports. After 5 years at 990AM WGSO In January of 2018 I moved my radio show to Sports 1280 WODTAM and I-Heart radio hosting Noon-2pm until July of 2020
